It has paid off..

So I have been working with DS for months now with sign language. And of course he didnt learn them over night. lol But we were sitting on the couch eating a snack. And watching TV (I just had surgery and dont feel like moving much) and he reached down to get another puff and noticed they were gone. He looked at me and tapped his little fingers together for more. I was soo excited. It was just too cute. It was a nice pat on my back for me that he was learning.

Thats all. I am just super proud of my little man.

Thats awesome mama, I love sign language for kids, mine use it too, helped with my ods who has a speech delay, we werent able to understand him for quite a while, he learned sign language and did well, his speech si better now too as he gets ST at school.
my dd who is special needs also knows sign language, it is awesome for us as she still doesn't talk much and only has about 30 words in her vocabulary at 4 years old and my youngest is just learning sign language at 19 months he knows ~more, all done, cookie, hurt and eat..lol
if you don't have Baby signing times, you should look into them, they are awesome!

Re: It has paid off..

My ds just really started using some signs too...it's so exciting! He first did "more" when he was like 7 months but then stopped for awhile. Now he does them (more words now of course) a lot more often and to more people, yay for you mama!

that's so great!!! I keep trying with DS, he's not quite ready but we're just starting slow. I think maybe I'll try "more" instead of "milk" from now on as we're feeding him solids now.

Way to go!! It's so exciting to see them sign!!

I am a signing momma too ....(well was and will be again, we haven't signed with DD since she started talking in sentences but she still remembers a lot & will still watch the Signing Time DVDS once in a while...we've been sort of doing some "refresher" signs with her so she can help sign to baby brother when he is here..she has forgotten a lot! She still remembers all of her first signs though, like milk, more, all done... she forgets some of the ones from later on like moon, apple, silly)

Re: It has paid off..

We watch Signing Time video's so my two older girls know quite a bit, but they don't use sign language very often.
