Diaper Swappers

I just got my first GAD in the mail from middle earth diaper. I also got a used GAD off FSOT today. Now here is the odd part... the new GAD doesn't have stitching around the pocket opening

it's just a hole cut in the fleece kind of jagged like. The used one I have has stitching around the pocket opening, I'm guessing so that it doesn't fray or tear or anything. Can somone tell me, is this something she is dong now just leaving the pocket opening unstitched or did I get an unfinished one?

She's just making them like this now. SHe says it's unnecessary to stitch/serge the opening, and it can fray anyways which causes problems. Preston's Pants are the same way. I personally really liked the old way with the serging, but I guess we all have to adapt to change! I thought the same thing as you at first..that I got a defective dipe or something. Seems to work fine though!

Okay thanks for telling me... you'd think she would at lest cut it straight though if she wasn't going to stitch it

maybe I'll just stitch it myself, having an unfinished edge really bothers me.

wow, yeah that would bug the crap out of me too!!!!! so does anyone know how she does the suedecloth ones???

, i wanted to try a gad but if it's just cut like that i'd rather not lol....

well it's only on the inside pocket so I guess it shouldn't really bother me... I think I'm too OCD about my diapers not to care though...

Oh no, I didn't know that she was doing them that way now! The cutting the fleece and leaving it like that makes it look unfinished IMO.

And that's the reason I sold the PP I had, because the unfinished pocket opening bugged me!

Both fleece and suedecloth ones are like that now. If you just got one new and it was serged, either it was a velour (or other?) inner, or it wasn't made in her most recent batches.

If you don't like it maybe you should email her about it. I know I did. I guess if a bunch of people don't like it maybe she'll switch back? But I really don't think it affects the function at all. I just liked the way it looked the old way.
