Rochester MI mommas
Can you tell me about your area? There may be a possible move there. We are in the very early stages of looking but things move fast in this house.
Can you tell me about the best parts to live? Is the downtown area ok to live in? How are the school systems? What is your favorite thing about the area? What is your least favorte part about the area? Are there things to do with the kiddos in the Winter? TIA Alison

Rochester is a nice area, good school systems I've heard. We used to live in shelby township, but I worked in Rochester. The only thing I hated about downtown Rochester is the traffic. Very very busy. I'm not sure what's available in winter, but I know there is an ice skating rink at 24/dequindre.

Re: Rochester MI mommas
Thank you so much!!!!
I did not know much about the school systems but honestly it has to be bette then where we are at the moment. The all-natural part of the town is very appealing.

Re: Rochester MI mommas
Rochester schools are good. Not top notch like Troy, I think, but still good. Rochester and rochester hills is comparable to Troy, IMO. The library is the best I've been to. Love it there. Downtown is lovely to walk. Awesome community events too. There is a place called Rochester play downtown. It's like a large play place that also has daycare. Just pay admission, there is a toddler and big kid area plus a cafe of all organic food. They also have parent night out events to watch your kids while you go out. It's a cool place and we go there in the winter. The area has good shopping not far. Everything you need is within a couple miles usually. I don't have much to complain about really. There is a great cider mill there too. A good fall activity for the family. There are trails along the Clinton river. The Rochester municipal park is huge and beautiful. A pond with ducks, a bridge, 4-5 different playgrounds, and a paved trail all over for walking or ther activities. Also has tennis courts. I love the Rochester area. I grew up in Troy (a good area too) and moved to Rochester hills before having to move a little further to auburn hills. If you ever move here, contact me, I'll show you around!

Re: Rochester MI mommas
Thank you so much for all the info. It looks like we are moving to a different area though but know I am bummed bc it sounds like everything I want in a town.
