Diaper Pin Users (for dipes not the website)

I recently bought some pins to try, I have only used snappis before. But I have some prefolds I wanted to use under my wool and I didnt want my snappis to snag it. How the heck do you use it w/o pricking the baby. I have a 1 yr old (in a week) and I cant get her to be still enough for me to stick the dang thing thru all the material. I had to go back to my snappi's.

You don't have to go through all layers. Just enough to catch the bottom part. Keep your pins stuck in a bar of soap so they'll slide better. Give babe a distraction when diapering, pull diaper TIGHT (it'll loosen), hold fingers under fabric, pin, fill as much cloth into the pin as you can get. http://www.diaperpages.com has good pics. Practice on a doll or stuffed animal. I did that a BUNCH before Zane was born.
