My 5mo hasn't peed in 5 hours...should I worry?

This may be silly, but I just realized that DS hasn't had a wet diaper since at the latest 4pm...could have been earlier. He's nursed a lot but is spitting up a lot too (he's teething so I think extra nursy). Should I be thinking he's dehydrated or is he just good at holding it in? TIA

I would probably call your pedi if they have an answering service, just to see what they think. I'm not sure if it's worrisome or not, but I'd call. I hope someone else has better advice! *hugs*

are you sure the baby hasn't peed at all? try no diaper for an hour and see what happens.

I bet he's pee'd, maybe just not very much. With diapers it's hard to tell sometimes, ditto leaving him naked. But no, I wouldn't worry anyways. It is a long time, but not something worrisome with no other issues.

We don't vaccinate, we kept our sons intact, we use cloth diapers, we co-sleep, we extended RF, we breastfeed, but we watch too much tv and I totally dig plastic! Everyone has their issues, lol.

My six month old does this about once a week. He just decides that he is not going to pee for HOURS, then all the sudden he SOAKS his diaper, then I change him and he soaks another, all within the span of about 20 minutes lol. I asked his pedi about it and he said some babies just do that. He said just what the PP said, at 12 hours check for signs of dehydration (lips looking dry, lack of tears when crying, etc) and if still no pee by 24 hours then bring him in to the pedi if open and urgent care for after hours at this age.
