Popsicle recipes?

Last summer we were pretty addicted to popsicles...but we have been trying to avoid HFCS, so I'm looking for a semi-healthy popsicle recipe. Any ideas?

Re: Popsicle recipes?

sometimes i take a couple of different fruits, peel/skin off, chop and put in the food processor until they are pureed (sp?), then i put in blender with ice and crush it all up!

Sometimes i do that alone, or i use fruit juice, or ones with yogurt in them

we just found some popsicle molds I had dh looking fo rsome yesterday..but i told him if we could get those i'd make them for us and we'd save money in the long run

Re: Popsicle recipes?

I like my popsicles to not be like ice cubes, so I add simple syrup (equal parts water and sugar dissolved) to the fruit juice. This helps keep that thing where you suck all the flavor out of the ice from happening. My favorite for the summer is watermelon. You can get them cheap and just put unseeded pieces in the blender and strain out the pulp.

What a great idea. I never thought of coconut milk. I wonder if they come out like a frozen milk cube or more like a pudding pop. When will summer get here so I can try it? (I also want to try homemade frozen pudding sometime too).

Love this idea.

I was planning on making fruit smoothies into Popsicles this summer.

Re: Popsicle recipes?

We made fudgesicles last year by pureeing very firm tofu with homemade chocolate sauce and coconut milk. They turned out sooo good.

I also like to make popsicles with sweetened herb tea. Chamomile with a tiny pinch of hibiscus makes a pretty pink popsicle, and mint is really refreshing on a hot day.
