Re: Help diaper rash?

Don't forget to fight this where it counts. His intestines! The antibiotics upset the flora in his gut which is what is causing the 'Hershey Squirts' in the first place. Do what you need to to make his butt feel better with creams and such, but don't forget his gut. You can buy acidophilus (sp?) capsules at wal-mart. Open it up and put the powder in his drink or in some food. You can put as much as you want as it will not hurt him and can only help. I do this with mine and it helps alot! I'll even use it when their tummy is bugging them and it seems to help things subside faster. In your case I would do like three caps, three times a day until he's better. Then one three times a day for a couple days after.

There are reviews on there that you can read. I am not sure what some are talking about when it comes to the smell of this product because we think it smell soooo good! I am very very picky aobut scent too.

We LOVE this stuff!!

Re: Help diaper rash?

For DD I bought calendula ointment and topped it with Desitin. Also used the calendula on mosquito bites, and it relieved the itch! Bought it at the health food store.

I second the acidophilus...try feeding him some Yo Baby yogurt. (If he's old enough for it...didn't catch his age...sorry). DD always loves to make a big mess out of that. It has active cultures.

I agree, gets lots of acidophilis in him. Careful with sweet yogurts because yeast loves the sugar. I'd get the capsules and pour it in his drink, or even his mouth. Check on Dr. Sears' site, but I think you give the acidophilis two hours after the a/b. Continue for a couple weeks after the a/b to get his flora all back in order.

Re: Help diaper rash?

Triple Paste worked wonders for us. It is pricey, but it works. I got mine at CVS.

I would also try the Yo Baby.

Good luck.
