Wool under onsies?

Is that just asking for trouble? I do at night sometimes, but that's wool over a pocket. I'm just wondering about fitteds and wool- dangerous? It's just starting to get hot here and I'm trying to figure out a good solution for my sensitive bummed girl!

hi Ali!! it's been hot here for a while (92 degrees) and Jillian hangs around the house in wool and t-shirts. i don't have any onesies that would fit over wool.

I'm thinking that wouldn't work well. I'd try to get more tshirts, and maybe just fitteds? And then just change often.

I do the tee and change often, I just have a ton of unused onsies around here. I have a bunch of interlock wool covers, I love them. Knit would look pretty silly under a onsie. Hmm, maybe I'll just try and see.

I think I must be picturing a knit one then (I'm not a wool user). I was thinking it would look funny too, but now I know what you're talking about.

Ali - just chop off the bottom of those onesies! If you have a sewing machine or know any sewing friends, you could turn the ends under and hem them. (remember my thread about that at HC in the crafting forum?) If I can do it, anyone can. They don't look super professional close-up, but I have taken her out in public in them before with her wool, so they aren't that bad! It's the best solution for heat+fitteds+wool, IMO.

Re: Wool under onsies?

I have tall skinny kids and so am always shopping for the long, narrow onesies anyway. I have put both my kids in onesies with a CPF and a wool cover (bumpy wrap, lana soaker, loveybums crepe & jersey). I think the lana soaker is the trimmest looking one under clothes as long as you put pants or shorts on over the onesie to cover the leg cuffs.
