Re: Tell me about your birth tub
Here is the one I will be using.
http://www.yourwaterbirth.com/labassine.shtml Are you having a homebirth? I had thought you went with a birth center, if so then they will supply the birthing tub/pool. At least they do around here.

Re: Tell me about your birth tub
Since your birthing at a hosp. mine won't help but I thought I'd share. My dh put a valve on a horse water trough. It was nice and deep, but narrow enough for both my midwives to assist me on either side.
You can't see much of it in this pic, but you might get the idea. We will be using it again! I love waterbirth!

Re: Tell me about your birth tub
This is the tub we used, but we didn't rent it from here as our MW owned her own and we rented it directly from her. It was very comfortable and I was able to push my arms on the sides while pushing without worrying about the stability of the pool walls. I really loved this pool. It stayed nice and warm and was very roomy!

Re: Tell me about your birth tub
I used the aqua doula and I LOVED it. I don't have link and I'm nak'ing right now, but you can google it. My mw provided it so I don't have a clue about the cost of renting one. But, it's got a heater in it and I really, really, really needed hot water during labor, so it was perfect for me.

Re: Tell me about your birth tub
I see you're in AZ- I have a few names of people who rent the "softtub" style pools with the jets/heater etc ($225-250 for rental). I'm having a hard time finding one available at the time we're due- we thought of purchasing a soft tub and then renting it out, but I don't think I want to deal with that and the money seems like a big waste if we're not going to use it again. I've heard great things about la bassine ($100)- there is one that is very similar (without the handles etc, but it does have the blow up floor with thick walls) that you can get on Sports Authority's website for $50 it's a Sevylor. I've also heard great things about fishy pools etc- one tip I heard was go for thick walls so you can lean etc- and you want a smaller surface area (if you don't have a heater) because the water will stay warmer longer without as many boiling water additions
![]() Let me know if you'd like any of the contact names for rentals
