Opinions Please

I was wondering what you all would recommend to a new mom as a starter package for cloth diapering. I have my own opinions, but the more the merrier.

Thanks so much
Rachel

Re: Opinions Please

I like small starter packs. When I first started, I didn't want to invest alot in something I wasn't sure I would stick with. I like sites that offer 3 pocket diaper packages rather than 6 or 12 , or something like 6 prefolds and 2 covers.

Re: Opinions Please

If it's just to test 1 dozen prefolds, 4 covers.

If it's to start for real - 3 dozen prefolds, 9 covers

Just my opinion

I bought a tester package from baby cotton bottoms. It was the best assortment for the best price that I could find. I got to try tons of differant dipes, covers and prefolds. I found what I like the best and what I didn't like and sold what I didn't like on here. Hope this helps.

See I think a starter pack of 1 pocket, 1 fitted, 1AIO, 6PFs, and 2 covers would be an AWESOME starter pack....

Because a lot of people dont know what they will like when they start out. I know a LOT of people try PFs and give up. I started with pockets....

Re: Opinions Please

I have discover that I am folding impaired so I would have to go with fitteds and wool. I would probably make some NB fitteds if I was having another and some recycled longies then when the baby was big enough for MEOS, I would go with them. But that is me and I am very "cheap"/frugal.

Re: Opinions Please

We started with PF's and gave up on everything except three Kissaluv 0's that I used when they were clean. So for me, a starter pack with fitteds and easy care wool or fleece covers would have been best.

Re: Opinions Please

When I was looking for starter packages I passed by everything that had prefolds in it. I knew I didn't want to bother with those (and I still never have), and it made it hard for me to price the package out per diaper, so I wasn't sure if I was getting a good deal or not.

I think a great starter package would be 2 of everything (2 fitteds, 2 pockets, 2 AIO's, etc) and one wool and one PUL cover. That really covers the basics. Maybe allow for add ons as well, so if you want to add prefolds it's so much more, or if you want to add accessories, etc.
