Premie or infant prefolds for twins?

I want to buy 2 dozen prefolds for a friend who is expecting identical twins. Should I get Premie or Infant? I have no idea. They are her first so there is nothing to base it on either.

I'd go with preemie. I had infants for Ben and he was 7.12 and they just seemed huge. I actually went all pockets just because they were so big, and really wish I'd had some preemies

my twins were born full term and good weights and i had preemie pfs. even if she doesn't use them as diapers for very long, she will get plenty of use out of them. the infant ones are too big usually for even 7-8 lbs babies. congrats to your friend!

I had preemie twins and would have loved to have more preemie prefolds. The infants would get more use, but the preemies are so nice in those early weeks. So, I voted preemie

could you get infant prefolds and then cut some in half and sew the edges? that way she would have some of both? or is that too much of a pain?

I had a 9lber and stil used premie prefolds for a month. infants fit but were soooo bulky. i used two at one time. I would take 2- trifold them and it was a perfect fit and size, so for twins i would definatley go premie (they are tiny though)

I say both, maybe a dozen of each. My babe was 7#12ozs and the preemies fit but were so small to work with. At about a month old (and just over 8.5 lbs) I figured out to trifold the preemie and lay it in the infant, worked great as a doubler and to add bulk. She is now nearly 4 months old and I still do it that way.

Re: Premie or infant prefolds for twins?

I was thinking both, but a dozen of each won't really do much for twins if the infant are too big.

I think I will go with premie to help start her off. Even 24 prefolds won't go far with 2 babies but It should help make a dent.

Oh, deanne! THAT is the diaper I want for my custom slot!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you made that and have more of that material

My girls came home at 4.5 pounds and I couldn't use the preemies unless trifolded. I think I'm preemie pf challenged.

Re: Premie or infant prefolds for twins?

Maybe half and half? My girls were in newborn diapers right off the bat at 5.6 and 6.6 lbs each. Like all babies, they grew FAST. So maybe some preemies might be nice for the beginning, but it would also be nice to have some for when they start growing. HTH.
