Fairly regular BHs for a couple of hours

Should I truly be worried? I will be 33 wks tomorrow. All 3 of my other babies were born at 41+ wks and I just cannot imagine that this is premature labor.

I am with a midwife/birthing center, so I am sure she would just tell me to go the hospital. I HATE our hospital.

I just really do not want to go up there for nothing and I do not feel like I am in labor.

I drank 3 glasses of water, laid on my left side, fell asleep, woke up and still having the braxton hicks every 5-7 minutes or so. It has been a little over 2 hrs.

Anyone had this happen and it was not labor?

I'd call the midwives. Most practices I know would much rather see you themselves not send you to the hospital.

And really, it's better to know for sure either way. It'll either put your mind at ease or you can be properly treated for pre-term labour. They're coming regularly enough and for long enough that I'd say it warrants a call and a check up!

I would call.

It's not the same since it was my first and I didn't know, but I went into preterm labor and thought it was bh. I called the doctor after I had gone into work with 9 hours of contractions every 4 to 5 minutes. They were still able to stop it but I wish I had known they were real contractions.

Thanks. I am still here.

They have slowed and I am going to take it easy and ride it out for a little while. If they pick back up, I have my mom on standy to take the kids.

I would go. I went into preterm labor with my 3rd child at 31 weeks. That is to often to be having them that far along! Good luck!

Hope that things continue to stay calm for you! How long are the BH's lasting?

Re: Fairly regular BHs for a couple of hours

I'm 35 weeks and have been having BH's regularly for about a week now. More regularly than normal I mean. I'm having them every 5-10 through most of the day. I had them CRAZY with my second too.

I find I have them more often and with more intensity when I am doing something physical, they taper off a bit when I am relaxing. But I don't relax much right now since my nesting is going freaking CRAZY. Like not just baby stuff, but full on home improvement stuff and I can't stop it. LOL.

Anyway, if you are unsure it is always better to be safe than sorry. For myself I am not concerned, but if I were I wouldn't hesitate to go to the hospital or contact the Dr.

Good Luck!!
