I was just looking over DD's growth chart and it made me curious. I know there's a huge variety of birth weights in all babies, but I was wondering if the amount of weight they gain in the first year is fairly steady, relative to their birth weight.

From birth weight to their weight on their 1st birthday, how much did your LO gain?

I'll make it multiple answer for those with multiple LO's!

DD was 6lbs 8oz at birth and close to 18lbs at one year.

I have 7 lo's and so far, all the ones who are over 1 (Nate's only 3 weeks

) have been 20 lbs at their first birthday, give or take up to 1lb.

Birthweights have varied from 5lb10oz to 8lb12oz.

DS was 8 lbs. 10 oz. at birth and 24 at his one-year checkup--a little over a 15 lb. gain.

Wow! So far, I'm the only "less than 10 lbs." vote.

Our girls all weighed between 8 and 11 pounds at birth, and 15-20 pounds around their first birthdays! They come out big, but stay pretty teeny after that -- Dh and I joke that I make skim milk.

All perfectly healthy, though!

DS1 was 10 lbs exactly when he was born. On his first birthday he was 26 lbs... but didn't gain more than a pound or two for the next year.

ds was 9.1 and is about 25-26 pounds right now

i dont remember dd's

but she was 8.6 at birth and was WAY bigger at 1 yr old than her brother. She was in a solid 2t at 1!!! and he is 12-18 months

Don't remember my other munchkins, but my youngest was born 8lbs 3oz and at his one yr visit, he was a couple of ounces short of 30lbs.

At his 18 month visit, he was 31 lbs... he's always running around and hardly stops so his weight gain has slowed but he's growing (height) like a weed.

Addy was 5lbs 11oz at birth. At 12 months she was 14lbs.
She is 16lbs 3oz at 15 months.
