Liquid Lanolin - How much?

How much do you use in a medium size sink full of water? Is it touchy when it comes to the temperature of the water? I've used Lansinoh before and if the water isn't warm enough it goes solid. Is it the same with liquid lanolin?

Thanks.

Re: Liquid Lanolin - How much?

You will need about a pea size amount of lanolin, whether it is solid or liquid.

As for touchyness....in order to avoid the "solid clumps" (with either liquid or solid lanolin), disolve your lanolin (liquid OR solid) in a small jar of HOT water w/ a drop or two of baby shampoo or liquid wool wash and mix/shake thoroughly. Allow it to cool slightly. The shampoo/wash emulsifies the lanolin so it is thoroughly dispersed and prevents it from clumping up when it meets your tepid water in the basin.

I like to use about a tablespoon of liquid lanolin. The liquid doesn't get sticky like the lansinoh, so using too much isn't such a problem.
