Do you wake your kids up in the morning?

Nope, I don't think kids ever sleep more then they need to. We all get up around 9am, my boys go to sleep about 10pm and my dd goes when she wants as long as it's before me.

Nope. My DS is always up before me and comes and wakes me up. I haven't used an alarm clock in years! DD likes to sleep in. So far it hasn't been a problem because we put her in afternoon preschool and kindergarten. Next year for 1st grade she's going to have to get up early, so we'd better start practicing!

I only wake my eldest if he's going to be late for school. They usually all rise early though and I'd never wake the others unless absolutely necessary.

However.. at a younger age I did gently wake them at times if they were going to mess up their schedules by quite a bit. Say they need a late nap but I dont want them sleeping 4-6pm... I'd wake at 5 or so. kwim?

when my first was about 6 months old we wanted to establish her routine.

so at that point, i did start waking her at 7:00 (give or take 20 minutes or so). i would do this even if she had just been up to nurse and gone back to sleep 30 minutes before.

doing that made the rest of the day fall into place and within a couple of months i never had to do it anymore.

at 2 years old, my dd was sleeping 7:30-7:30 and napping 1-3:30 ish.

i totally recommend it if you'd like to start a routine (which you'll need for preschool). since you can't control when they fall asleep, the only thing you can control is when they wake up. and, like i said, once you establish that wake up time then the rest of the day will fall into place and eventually you won't have to do it anymore.

NOW.....my 2nd baby is 6.5 months and i haven't started doing it with him yet even though every morning i say it's time to start! maybe tomorrow

My step dad NEVER let me sleep in at all. If he was awake every had to be awake. That drove me nuts. I always said that I would let my children sleep in on days that we had no where to be at a certain time.

Sometimes... it depends whether or not the other one is up or if we have somewhere to be. If not, I'll let them sleep but they're not cranky either way so it doesn't bother me

Yup, every morning. I get them between 745 and 800. They usually wake between 7 and 730 and they have time to wake up slowly then.

I wake DD on days we have places to be. Otherwise, she sleeps til she wakes up, and I am grateful.

nope, I have an early riser. He is up usually around 4-5 and I can get him to snuggle and go back to sleep with me till 7 if I am lucky. I'd love it if he slept in!
