Yes, but I try to wait until after 9am to start waking them up.

Nope. But if you have the luxury of being home, I think that's kindof normal. My son sleeps from 9-9 usually. Then he naps from 1-4. He loves sleep! I love that he loves sleep too!

Re: Do you wake your kids up in the morning?

Its funny.. on weekends he is up before the sun but on weekdays I have to wake him up by 5:15am to be at daycare by 6:40. I have to be at work by 7 each morning. Luckily he isn't usually grouchy but likes to "play" and linger in bed once he is awake until I can catch him and get him dressed.

Never - he wakes us at the crack of dawn and is up for the day. I don't think he has ever slept past 7am. Usually he is up somewhere between 6-6:30am.

Re: Do you wake your kids up in the morning?

DD almost always wakes between 8-815 but I'll (gently) wake her at 830 if she's still sleeping. Otherwise she isn't tired enough to take a morning nap, and is too tired for her afternoon nap. Or she'll only take one nap. In either case, it makes for a VERY cranky baby. She likes the predictability of a routine, which I like, but isn't very flexible.. which is a bummer.

So that was rambly . Answer: Yes, I wake her by 830 on the rare chance she is still sleeping.

Re: Do you wake your kids up in the morning?

DS has always woken himself between 5:30 and 7 AM. He is such a morning person, there is just no getting him to sleep in any later! When he was little and co-slept with us we kept the bedroom completely baby-proof and had toys for him so he could play on the floor while I slept until at least 7 AM. (I am NOT a morning person.) Now that he's a little older he gets up and gets himself a granola bar and is allowed to watch PBS cartoons until I get up with DD.

DD normally wakes around 6:30-7 AM, but sometimes she'll sleep until 8 or 9. If she sleeps in I try to let her sleep since I figure it's associated with growing.

Only in the odd situations when they're sleeping in (which rarely happens) and we have somewhere to be. Generally, my kids are up by 6:30am, no matter what time they go to bed.

Re: Do you wake your kids up in the morning?

I wish we had that problem. I have never had to wake them up in the morning, because they are up anywhere from 5:30/6:30am. So, it really isn't an issue. I think that if I were you, I would try to start a good morning routine, to get her ready for preschool.
