Soothies 3+ Mths are HARD

DD takes soothies and gumdrop paci's. I lost both of our pink ones so I went and bought a pack of soothies instead of paying for shipping on gumdrop.

Well they were the "3+ Months" size instead of 0-3 and WOW are they a heck of a lot heavier and HARD compared to the soft nipple on the 0-3 mths.

She seems to take it ok but doesn't seem as fond of it as her gumdrops and soothie from the hospital...

Anyone else have this problem? Is there a reason they made them harder for older babies???

I read somewhere that I can get a purple/pink pack in the newborn 0-3 months size at Kmart and Babies R Us, but I'm thinking maybe just spend the extra and buy more gumdrops??

You can get the 0-3 month size, you just have to look for it specifically. They also have them at Target. I would probably do that instead, but I hate to pay shipping! Also, make sure the package says newborn size on it, because they also have purple ones in the harder size.

I use wubbbanubs which have the blue soothie paci on them till my girls are 2 and no has chewed a hole in them I think they make them harder for the harder teethers

I think they make the ones for older babies harder so that teethers can't bite the end off. I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere.

We had the old wubbanubs with the newborn green soothie for almost 2 years and had no problems with it (DS just decided to give it up one day) it was VERY soft (especially after a few washes in the machine since the dog would get gross looking sometimes)

Our DS is almost 2 and still uses the newborn ones, he won't take the 3Plus month ones.

DD#1 used soothies. She used the 0-3 mo ones until about 18 months. Then she started getting holes in them and we switched her to the 3+ mo ones and she didn't care at that stage. (she worried them with her teeth to go to sleep which is why they were getting holes)

Neither of mine would ever take the 3+. Nikolas weaned himself before 1 year though and Kate is 7months so maybe she'll take it later if she's still using one.

Yeah, I went and bought gumdrop ones at the hospital gift shop and will get rid of the 3+ months ones, or save for down the road. I realize I prefer the gumdrops but good grief they're a lot more expensive!

DS wouldn't take the 3+ soothie at all, so we had to buy more newborn ones. We have three sitting around now, since he decided he didn't want one anymore around 9 months.
