So it seems as if they are trojans and malware. And on my computer I found them and got rid of them but it seems to have deleted all the info for startup and for adminidtrative tools. So when I start up my computer all that shows up is my desktop background. I am having to run all my programs through the windows task manager. Still trying to fix it though.

I get this as well, or Ill get a pop up that says "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this site" I hit cancel but it does it so many times I have to shut the comp down.

I had ds opened this afternoon, went to check on my kids, and when I got back it was on a site this afternoon of lots of women in bikinis...

I decided to try being a site supporter to see if it stops all these issues.

I'm running a trend micro virus scan now as I think my mcafee might not be updating correctly.

I'd much rather be knitting than trying to troubleshoot!

Cleaned TWO trojans from the other laptop today...not cool!

Can you run a virus/malware scan to see if anything is resident on your system?

I already did. I'm coming up with nothing. I ran AVG and Adaware on both the laptop and the desktop. I use Firefox too.

Have you tried specifically malwarebytes or spybot search and destroy? Those foudn things that my other programs didn't...when I had to eliminate the worms/trojens etc that were trying to make me crazy...once I protected my router, and then got rid of them (I had been infected) I have been good to go.

Now, someone tell me - is the pinecone research banner that keeps popping up from time to time real or not?? I made the mistake of clicking, and it ttook me nowhere. I did scan afterwards to make sure it hadn't done anything bad. I just haven't seen a pinecone banner stay anywhere long!
