Bad/funny parenting advice, lol.

Check out the comments in this blog post. The writer invited people to post their funniest/worst/etc. parenting advice that other people gave them. Here's one of the gems:

Quote:
My grandmother, now deceased, complained that my infant son was making too much noise and that we should "amputate the vocal cords" because that would teach him!

How the heck does one do that? And what kind of lesson is it supposed to teach?

The worst advice I ever received wasn't after I had my daughter, or even while I was pregnant with her...it was during the time we were having trouble conceiving her.

"You aren't praying hard enough"...

Yup.

I suppose every teen who got herself knocked up in the back seat of a car was saying the rosary.

Lord protect me from your flock.

Peace - Rene
lmao!

When my daughter was born, my MIL told me that I could not nurse my baby for her first few days of life because "my milk was poisoned from being in my body so long." I blamed my hormones at the time, but I couldn't help but say, "Are you stupid?"

DH's Grandma told him to tell me:
"Tell her my little secret. The best way to get through pregnancy was lots of Tab and cigarettes."

at some of this "advice". I do however love the following gem.

Quote:
The weirdest thing for us had to do with the nursing. I'm hoping to nurse for a couple years - if I can - and someone we know told me that human babies aren't made to digest human breast milk and if I did that, my child would never digest normally.
Seriously!?!

Not sure what lesson it is supposed to teach, but they do "de-bark" dogs. They surgically alter the vocal chords so the dogs cannot bark. The same could be done to humans I suppose, but I can't imagine it is legal.
