My Mood:
E/I Evaluation

What do they do at an E/I evaluation? Today, we did paperwork for one on my 2.5 year old, and 3 month old DFS. I want to help my 2 year old know what to expect. They are doing it in my home, and said they would bring their own toys.

Thanks!

Re: E/I Evaluation

DS had one when he was about 20 months old. They brought their own toys/activities and asked DS to do a bunch of stuff (like stack blocks, put together puzzles, draw a circle, stand on one foot, etc.) Then they asked me a bunch of questions like "does he get himself dressed?" "Does he walk up the steps one foot at a time?" Don't freak out if they start asking him to do a bunch of things that they can't do- they tested DS with some things that went well past his age level- things that they knew he probably wasn't going to be able to do. Mainly b/c when some kids lack in one area, they can often be advanced in others.
