Just wondering where you found the BLT pasta recipe... we need to be dairy/soy/egg free for DD's allergies too... and finding new recipes is always a treat!

most soy stuff, except the milk, has dairy in it too. which is so annoying, whats the point of soy yogurt or cheese (for me anyway) if youre not avoiding dairy for one reason or another?

Yeah, you know, I used the Smart Balance Mayo because I didn't see anything on the label that hinted at Dairy, but his reflux was really bad this morning, so I'm guessing that there was something hidden. :/ And of course all the other mayos out there that are vegan have soy, and I try to limit that as well too, (though I do still eat it ocassionally.) I know I saw that recipezaar has a mayo recipe, however I didn't check it out. I'm not sure if there are any other suitable substitites?

Actually, if baby is allergic to dairy, most likely they are to soy too. I do still eat it sometimes, but I try to limit it because he does seem to be a bit sensitive to it as well. It bothers his reflux a bit, but at least he doesn't scream like he did when I ate too much dairy.

Re: food when dairy free?

Silk makes a dairy free yogurt. I agree it is pain to find stuff though. We keep being hopeful that DS will outgrow it like the allergist said. For us, dairy makes him throw up and break out in a rash so we avoid it. DS will be 2 in a few weeks so only a little while longer we hope.

I'm sure I had a recipe somewhere... I will look for it.... but I am still curious as to the recipe (or the link if I've totally missed it in reading this thread!) for this meal- sounds delish!

Re: food when dairy free?

oh! I just made it up. Make pasta according to directions. Panfry bacon, (6-8 strips?) drain on ppr towels. shred some lettuce, chop a tomato or two, dd to a big bowl; toss in pasta. Mix w/a little mayo/minced garlic/lemon juice combo. Sorry no measurements, just however much you feel. I had also added a hardboiled egg for more protien, & some black olives. (sorry my A key is sticky.)

Sounds great! And the lettuce didn't get too wilty or taste off? I've just never thought of lettuce with warm pasta! I still have to look for my mayo recipe for you though... I've never made it- just held onto the recipe! Also, just to warn you, many dairy-allergic people are also egg allergic!

Soda and syrup also have dairy in it. It is under "caramel color".
