Need cute outfits (yes, it is diaper related!)

On the 21st we will be having a small lunch/sweets party for the girls because they have all gotten their first teeth in. One of the customs (sephardic Jewish in case you were wondering ) is to put them on the table and toss barley at them so I need something totally cute and adorable, not tooooo expensive and easy to get for them to wear.

I was thinking of making those fluffy tutus, and then using the ruffle-bummed Angel Luvs pockets I bought from Ooey underneath. DH won't go for them to be bare-topped so what to do? Just a tee?

My other idea was some longies but the reason I'm not too keen on this is that dh hasn't decided if the barley should be cooked (some people use cooked sweet barley) and that would make a HUGE mess and I would have to wash them right away. However, if anyone has any ideas of cute longies...I was thinking some Llamajamas or Kozy since they can coordinate and are instock.

Or should I just use some longies they already have with tees they already have and buy them some cute soft shoes? I only have 2 weeks and I can't decide...

I would say if you like the look of the tutus and ruffled dipes go with that and maybe a custom painted T?

I really like this skirt (too small for DD) - there is only one though - but if you or someone you know knits I bet something like this knits up pretty quick.

I'd go with cute dipes, babylegs, softshoes, and painted t's.
