Re: Thinking ahead
It really depends on what you like. If pfs aren't your thing, maybe pockets? I started out with pockets, and I like them for younger babes. Now that mine are getting older, I'm more leaning toward fitteds and covers.
Or get some used AIOs, those are easy. How exciting, I wish I could start with a newborn! |

Re: Thinking ahead
I did this. I've been slowing buying things.
I have about 20 fitteds and 4 pockets. I've heard that 2-3 dozen is the number you want to shoot for. I'm filling out my stash with prefolds.. never used them before, so we'll see how it goes lol.

Re: Thinking ahead
I did that too. . . I bought a full stash in nb and smalls. . . What a relief to not have to worry about smalls as she grew out of the nb stuff! We did mostly fitteds and covers at first, kl, xs sandies and nannipoos, proraps and bsww for covers. We've moved to a combination of fitteds and pockets now, mostly fb, swaddlebees and s sandies, with a few other random fitteds thrown in. Wiggle Worm Bottoms are our cover of choice now . . .
A little at a time is a great way to go, and since you have lots of time, you can wait for stuff to show up on the fsot . . . Have fun! Just don't get too addicted, unless you can afford to be addicted later!!!

Re: Thinking ahead
That's a great idea! Try to get a variety of things so you can try them out and see what you like.

Re: Thinking ahead
I had a full newborn and small stash when Zane was born. My suggestion would be buy things you know you like. I tried such a large variety. I ended up things I didn't like at all. If you like a certain brand(s) of pockets or fitteds go with them.
If I was buying again for a nb, without prefolds, I'd go with 36 total- mostly fitteds, maybe 2 dozen, and the rest pockets or AIOs like Magic-Alls. Prefitteds are nice since you can adjust the fit, but don't have to fold like a prefold. Make sure to have a few prefolds. They make excellent burp cloths. I had some dyed ones that were tooooo cute.

Re: Thinking ahead
I like the idea of buying a few things each month. Great idea!!
![]() I know you don't like pf's but they work AWESOME for a newborn. I tried pockets with Maddy and they didn't work well for her. Hope your able to find something that will work for you.
