Afraid to wash booroi cover

I'm getting the booroi cover in the mail any day now and I've read a bunch on here about how the covers bleed onto the diapers, so now I'm afraid to wash it or have DS wear it!

If you have this cover, please tell me how to wash it so this doesn't happen!

Thanks,
Sheree

Mine just did the first time and dyed my MF inserts, but it has since washed out...maybe wash it by hand once?

Re: Afraid to wash booroi cover

I had booroi's but sold them after just 2 days use. I washed them seperately so they wouldnt bleed on anything. I dont know how long you would have to do that though. The water did turn the color of the cover I was washing, but not tooooo bad. Also the prefolds turned blue with the cover on when she was wearing it. It washed right out. So I would definately wash them first, and only with like colors until the bleeding stopped.

Re: Afraid to wash booroi cover

Thanks guys. I think I'll try to wash it by had first then. Although, this is probably bad of me, but I don't know how to wash it by hand!

Re: Afraid to wash booroi cover

I have blue, green, and red. My red bled a little onto the inside of my vanilla gdiaper (turned pink), but washed out in a couple washes.

ETA: Wait, I take that back. I thought it was from my Booroi, but I actually didn't have it in the wash at the time. I forgot that I realized the pink came from a red shirt that was washed with the gdiaper (preggo brain...).

Yup, they never bled.

Re: Afraid to wash booroi cover

I have a purple, a red and a blue one and I washed them all with my dipes. I think the red one must have bled a little, because my Microfiber inserts were a little pink for a couple washes (but I think it's gone now). I also have a couple prefolds that have a small spot of red on them, but nothing stained that really matters to me (nothing visible anyways!)
