Halloween Costumes

what are you making for your kids?
this year (i think) my daughters will be cowgirls i am making them pettiskirts, rhinestone embellished long sleeve tees, and lasos(maybe). i will be buying hats, boots and leggings. we already have a hobby horse that older dd wants to "ride" younger dd will be pink/brown and older dd will be purple and teal i made their pettiskirts, wings and shirts last year for ladybug costumes(pics in my wahm wares post)....i think this will be easier bc no wings...and no glitter
so what are your big plans??

Re: Halloween Costumes

Ds will probably be a dog. It's his favorite word. I have some lt and dk brown, and white minky fabric that I could use. But we may do a family theme. Last year he was a little gray elephant. He was so adorable and just barely sitting up. Too bad I didn't get better pictures. He spit-up all down the front of the outfit.

Re: Halloween Costumes

This year my kids will be a pirate, fairy and monster. I had already bought their costumes on clearance BUT the whole purpose of learning to sew and buying the sewing machine is so that I could make dress up clothes and Halloween costumes in the future. I can't wait!

I asked DH just the other day what I should do for DS, and he votes Mario, so I'm thinking that's what I'll do.

Re: Halloween Costumes

I plan on making a lion costume for DS. It was a super-cute pattern I saw at Joanns and just had to have. I was all over it! lol.

Dh said we could buy the materials already so I can get to work on it. I'm sure it will be done by the 1st of Sep lol...than I can over the costume itself instead of just the pattern.

My 2.5 yo is obsessed with the Wizard of Oz right now, so I plan on making her a dorothy costume and my 2mo old is going as the cowardly lion .

Re: Halloween Costumes

I saw a cute bug in a zine and though it looked easy to recreate. I have LO that will be 6 months and LO that will be 4. My boy loves spiders so i'll sew some spider legs to pin on him. That way LO will be preying on his bug sister

Re: Halloween Costumes

ds wants to be a trashman. I'm thinking either orange overalls with a white shirt...or jean overalls with an orange shirt. Or maybe if I can find one, I'll just get a safety vest and put on jeans/shirt under it. This years' is going to have to be easy because I really don't have tons of time to spend.
