Sitting up?
When is the usual time a infant is supposed to be sitting up?
I don't remember when my boys sat up for the first time un assisted, and my DD #1 did EVERYTHING early, im talking crawling @ 4 months, walking @ 7 months oi.... and with Beanie here, she sits for a few mins un assisted, but isn't sitting fully yet, and she's 7 months tomorrow ![]() Thoughts?

Re: Sitting up?
6-7months for most kids. A few seconds at nearly 7m is perfect. Spend a lot of time carrying her on your hip to develop her balance. Stand her on your lap and put her on her tummy to develop strength. She's on track.

Re: Sitting up?
Ds couldn't do it without a pillow to catch his inevitable fall until he was 9 months old. Coincidentally the same time he became interested in solids.

Re: Sitting up?
I think all kids do things at different times. DS started sitting on his own wihtout tipping at 5 months, but he didn't start crawling till 8, and he's almost 1 and nowhere near walking. That's his personality though. He likes to sit and play on his own (Mom leave me alone) so I think he was motivated to learn to sit on his own, but he crawls just fine, so he doesn't care about walking. Well I'm no help. I just like to talk about my baby I guess.

Re: Sitting up?
DS started everything early, but each kiddo is so different. I wouldn't be concerned as you say she is crawling backwards which is a much more difficult skill IMO. I agree with the pp- carry her on your hip to help with balance.

Re: Sitting up?
DD is just now perfecting her sitting (She's almost 8 months). I still don't trust her without a pillow behind her. She has not even attempted to crawl! She does this one arm pull thing. Looks tiring! Oh well... I don't mind. I'm going to miss my baby when she gets mobile.

Re: Sitting up?
My ds3 is around your LO age and he started sitting up at 5 months and crawling at 6 months. Now at 7 months he has learned how to get from crawling to a sitting position.
Every DC is different though.
