My oldest is freaking out

She'll be 8 in a couple of weeks. She's changing schools and we are in the process of buying a new house that is about five miles away. When she goes to bed, she freaks out and wants to be with me. "I just want to be with you." over and over over. I try to be kind and realize that she's probably anxious about all the new stuff going on.

Anyway, I'm asking for patience and grace when it comes to this child. She's making me gray!

That is really hard. My oldest son has a hard time with transition so I can totally relate.. Prayers for you!

How are things going?

She seems to be calming down. Thank you. My youngest started preK this week, so we've had a lot of time for just the two of us. We are going to the beach sometime next week, again just the two of us, so hopefully, she's over the hump.

I moved when I was 8 and I remember how sad I was, I cried and cried the night before we moved, my mom just told me to throw the kleenex on the floor and by morning, the floor was covered. I remember learning our new address down to the zip code, getting settled into the new house and adjusting to a new school - it is pretty traumatic, but after a few weeks things will get back to normal!!!
