ISO: Salsa recipes!
Post your favorite homemade salsa recipes, please! I have lots of tomatoes and want to make a huge batch - so tell me why your salsa is so good and how to make it, please!

Re: ISO: Salsa recipes!
I do mine by taste, but I add the following to the blender and mix it up:
Tomatoes, Garlic Jalapeno Cilintro Lime juice Red Onion I like mine spicy and will add jabanaro into it too sometimes. Just start light on the peppers and cilantro until you are sure of the taste

Re: ISO: Salsa recipes!
Mine is similar to the one ClothDiaperMePlease posted.. I do mine by taste also!
To change it up, I'll sometimes add a dash of maple syrup to sweeten it (not too much, you just want to enhance the flavors) and I've added canned black beans or fresh corn off the cob (sweet corn).. both are good. I've also used lemon juice instead of lime, which gives it a completely different flavor. Have fun and experiment! |

Re: ISO: Salsa recipes!
I chop everything with a cleaver into maybe 1/2-1/4" chunks:
Tomatoes Onions Garlic Cilantro 1 tiny habenaro pepper I squeeze 1 lime in it Additional add-ins for fun: Mangos Pineapples Bell Peppers I always let it sit overnight so it gets nice and marinated. YUM! |

Re: ISO: Salsa recipes!
I cheat. I buy the 88 cent spice packets in the produce dept at Walmart and just add tomatoes and red onion. Yummo!!
We're having a great year for tomatoes too!!
