contraction question
I'm in my second pregnancy-went two weeks early with my son and my due date is tomorrow. I have been having BH contractions for MONTHS now, and the past week and a half they have been regular (every 5-10 minutes) and have gotten stronger.
Last night I woke up at 2 and had some much stronger contractions-they were regular, and actually got closer together for two and a half hours and then stopped. What's going on?!?!?!?! Am I anywhere near the end???

Re: contraction question
Sounds like prodomal labour - your body's way of gearing up for the big event. That being said, sometimes real labour starts and stops as well. Have you checked your cervix to see if there's any progress?

Re: contraction question
There's no way to really know how close you are (people can dilate a cm in a day, or a few minutes), but in my experience, people who have lots of "practice" labor go very quickly once things get in gear. I also had months of BH cx. My water broke and I still only had light cx for a couple hours, then all of a sudden they got intense. I only had about 4-5 hours of hard cx before DD was born, 8 hours after my water broke. Sending you good thoughts for a smooth birth soon!

Re: contraction question
Sounds like you're close! Of course, there's no way to know the exact day. But remember that every bit your body can do before you're in the throws of labor--more power to it! With ds1, I had regular contractions (painless) for 2 days and was also very crampy. The third day, my water broke and he was born 6 hrs later (after 3 hours of pushing--so dilation was actually very quick for a first baby). Sending you positive labor vibes!

Re: contraction question
My body did the exact same thing the second time around for about 3 weeks in a row!! The last time getting stronger and quicker about 5-6 minutes apart when we left for the hospital. Pulling in I started getting the shakes and was 6+cm when they first checked me!! Best of luck
