Re: what's the earliest you dtd after having a vaginal birth?

With my daughter I tore and Needed stitches. I was ready at 4 weeks, but SO said "NOPE 6 weeks it is" I was UPSET, but then he was doing some research and discovered that 5 weeks is all that is really needed for healing, so we DTD right before I took a shower, he totally surprised me! It was 5 weeks to the day, It didn't hurt at all!

The midwife said min of 7 weeks. At 5 weeks I had a doctor's appointment and he said everything was healed and clear us for "Whatever", I don't know if I was quite as healed as he thought I was.

Re: what's the earliest you dtd after having a vaginal birth?

DD1 we tried at 6 weeks and I thought I was going to die from the pain. They used forceps to get her out so I had tons of stitching. Not a good feeling. I ended up cringing through the act at 12 weeks, but dh felt bad so we took it really slow.
DD2 was super easy birth, no tearing, no stitching, but we ended up waiting 6 weeks more cause we were both too exhausted to dtd. :-).

6 weeks with my first two just because I was scared of pain, I had lots of tearing.

Four weeks with the third, no pain at all!

I waited 6-8 wks with all 3 of my vaginal deliveries.
We went for it after 8 days. The biggest reason we didn't wait is because I knew I was ready. DS was 3 weeks early and was just a little bitty thing, I had no pain down below from the get go. I was up walking and sitting cross legged on the bed an hour after giving birth with no pain. I had also been on pelvic rest for 8 weeks, so I was ready to be with my husband. Plus, we had a limited amount of time before he was set to deploy, and I didn't want to waste any of it. I tried to get him to do it 4 days pp, but he told me to wait at least a week and then ask again. It didn't hurt at all, it was wonderful. I don't feel like I put my body at risk, plus, it's just a recommendation!

I stopped bleeding very quickly, before we dtd the first time. I think I only bled for about 6 days.

Re: what's the earliest you dtd after having a vaginal birth?

I hit the wrong answer...I meant to hit 3-6 months! But ONLY because my doctor sewed me up VERY badly and I had to have the incision re-cut and sewn again. She basically sewed me shut....I just had it re-cut and sewn again last week....it's been ten weeks since DS was born!

Re: what's the earliest you dtd after having a vaginal birth?

DD1, it was 4 weeks. Not a happy camper about it. It hurt so so so bad. Didn't again for a few more weeks. I only had 4 small stitches internally.

DD2, it was 2 months. I didn't want him touching me with a 10 foot pole. No stitches.

DD3, it was about 1 1/2 weeks in. lol. Then not again for a week or so. No pain at all. Just the fear of possibly getting preggo again so soon. I totally freaked out. lol

Mine was only heavy for maybe 4 days, then like a light period for a couple weeks, and almost nothing at all at 4 weeks when we dtd.
