Jonas is such a cute and strong name. If you like it, thats all that matters!! We named our son Jasper in honor of my late father and brother-in-law and both my mother and my mom-in-law gave us grief. We stuck too it and we love that we named him that. Go with your gut, its a beautiful name!!

LOVE the name! Who cares about teeny bopper pop culture anyway? Surely no one will think you named him after them. I think it is a solid, beautiful name (we had actually had it on our list, too!)

I did not even think of the jonas brothers until you mentioned it. i actually thought of the song 'my name is jonas' by weezer first

Yep! I am slightly biased, as we named our DS2 that. DH liked it after watching Stargate SG1, and one of the characters is named Jonas. I liked that it is not super common (yet), and is very classic. I had not even heard of the Jonas Brothers until after DS was born (I know, I'm under a rock, but hey, that's what not watching TV does for you).

My DH and I are Christians and he mentioned Jonah or Jonas as possible names. I've never read about anyone in Scripture named Jonas, now Jonah is! I didn't like Jonah because I automatically thought of a whale
