Took the girls in for their four-month checkup today. The doc didn't bat an eye when I said delayed vax (for now ), delayed solids, or at our CDs. She was surprised I did so well with my pg and bfing twins, LOL!
Anyway, she did say she wanted them to get some city water (ours is good, LOL) or nursery water for the additive that's in it (what is it? brain fart, ugh!). WWYD? I'm not totally sold they need it. I need to pull out my Dr. Sears, but thought I'd stop here too! WWYD?

Said something about putting it in bottles with BM but I have NO time to pump it out, KWIM? I'd rather not give them bottles...

I wouldn't do it, honestly. They will get flouridated water when you introduce them to water via solids, water in a cup, etc..about the time they start getting teeth KWIM?

But do some research and make an educated decision Like vaxxing, there are COMPLETELY different schools of thought on flouride!

For fluoride? If that's it, I'd suggest you look a bit into it and decide for yourself if you think they need it or not; some people are strongly against it and believe it's linked to thyroid problems and cancer, among other things, but I've never seen convincing research...

IMO, they are too young. My DD is 19 mo and my ped said to buy kids toothepaste with flouride *insert nod and smile here* I still buy NON-flouride.
I wouldnt purposely give it.
DD has on occasion gotten that nursery water when I was supplementing (cuz we had crappy water) but she didnt get it often and I certainly wouldnt go out of your way to give it to them. Not necessary.

I always start the fosterbabies on using a sippy cup-the plder version that doesn't use a valve-they will drip out if turned upside down, easier to learn to drink that way. Just put about an ounce in a sippy a couple times a day, they will wear most of it at first, but some will make it down the throat, then they will learn how to drink out of a cup and get some of that water at the same time. I wouldn't add it to BM in a bottle-that is the beauty of BF, no bottles to worry with!
