Re: Submit your Breastfeeding Book Reviews!
"The Nursing Mother's Companion" By Kathleen Higgins. By far THE BEST one I have come across. My daughter is 10 months old, still nursing and I still refer to it. I give is FIVE gold stars!

Breastfeeding Made Simple: 7 Natural Laws for Breastfeeding Mothers is a must read. Incredibly informative, and it made me feel better about attachment parenting, co-sleeping, baby-wearing, etc.

Re: Submit your Breastfeeding Book Reviews!
I am in love with the book Mother Food by Hilary Jacobson. It is not so much about how to breastfeed but it is a wealth of information about foods and herbs that promote lactation and overall good health. It is wonderful - very detailed in a way that everyone can easily understand and just overall a really great read! It even has recipes. I want to get this for all of my nursing friends and even for those who aren't just because it just has so much useful information that anyone can use. I will treasure this book forever.

"The Breastfeeding Mother's Guide to Making More Milk" By West
I have a low milk supply and really helped me to cope with the emotional and physical pain that stemmed from it. It also makes determining WHY you have a low milk supply a little easier, so that you can figure out what to do to help increase your supply. It has tons of info on herbs and meds that are galactogues and strategies to manually increase milk supply. |

Breastfeeding Made Simple
I got and read it while pregnant. It was really helpful and informative. The LCs in the hospital didn't have to help with latching at all after me reading it. Baby was in the nicu for a week and we couldn't nurse then and I'm just thrilled to be exclusively breastfeeding her, thanks largely to this book.

Re: Submit your Breastfeeding Book Reviews!
I really like the book by jack newman, the latch and the nursing mother's herbal. Not only was the herbal book very helpful when it comes to certain herbs, foods and their effects on breastmilk, but it also goes into a lot of scientific detail about breastmilk. This was a very educational book. The latch was helful for me when I didnt know why my nipples were white and cold after my daughter was done nursing. I really love reading about breastmilk.

Re: Submit your Breastfeeding Book Reviews!
"Nursing Mother, Working Mother" by Kathleen Huggins was a great book for me. I read it after my first LO was born and I found it very supportive of working mom's.
I also love the Dr. Sears books! |
