Re: Comming Home Outfits.

Ok so here is mine. I guess I wanted something unique. And I got it. I am in no way good at sewing clothes. Skirts yes and that sort of thing. So this was my first crack without a pattern or any instruction on making an indian outfit for dd. I took some leftover fabrics I had that I really didnt care if they got ruined or not. I guess the hardest part was the sleeves on the shirt. And the belt and pleating on the pants. It is not perfect but not bad either. Dh was actually impressed. And said If I keep making more the little tiny imperfection it has ( which will be hidden by the shirt anyways because it goes below the knees so you cant see it) will be perfect. Wooo Hoo I am so excited I never thought I could make one of these.
so here ya go!

thats the shirt
the pants

and the complete outfit

Dh laughed because it wasn't pink. Everything pretty much is pink. I still think its very girly though.

Jena both are equally adorable! Cm your in florida ( how I envy you right now I sooooo want to be back in florida) I don't think we bought a winter coat for ds it was sooo nice and warm but we were swf. Anyhoo you could make a cute pillowcase dress? And embroidery the bottom. They sell ebroidery kits at joanns with pillow cases included. And you could even get a diffrent colored pillow case. They look simple to make and tie it off with a pretty ribbon at the top? Idk just a suggestion.

Re: Comming Home Outfits.

Jena - I want to snuggle into both of them myself!!! Lucky LO you are having!

Fan - Yep, it will probably still be pretty warm here during the day in december so it will have to not be heavy. I love the idea of a pillowcase dress! I have seen a few online and have wanted to make some for dd1. I would love to make matching ones for dd1 and future dd2. So JA has kits for them? Because I really don't know how to go about making one. And I have tried a little embroidery and really enjoy doing it.. it's soothing.

And fan, did you say s. west fl? I am in the tampa/clearwater area.. actually just north of clearwater.

Re: Comming Home Outfits.

Cm I lived a little more south. Lool but we vacayed a lot in tampa clearwater lool small world.I lived between naples and ft myers. I sooooo miss it. Joanns sells pillowcase which you can embroidery. With a pillow case it should be simple. I haven't made one yet. But you could cet even cotton fabric or use the one for the embroidered pillow case cut it to length. And the make the width a little smaller and cut off the top which is enclosed.or get the cotton fabric any colors which you would like or print. And you could embroider big sister on the bottom edge and or little sister etc. Basically you just leave the top part open and then. Fold it over to make a hem leave enough width to get your ribbon thru. And how I get my stuff with ties thru is I take a safety pin and weed it thru. Make the width of the dress the same at the top and bottom. And then the top will gather when you tie it on their arms. I have some of that blue favric left from the shirt. After my mama cloth stint I will try to make a pillowcase. And see how it goes it looks pretty straight forward. I am a visual person can't follow a pattern for the life of me!
