We no longer use Explorer and use only Firefox too, but I got the message from "Virus Doctor" yesterday also. I just use Task Manager to close them down. I was on DS when it happened too.

Re: Virus attack AGAIN - 5th time!!!

Yep I was attacked yesterday!!!

I am actually only on here right now because I have to settle a few coops I have going and leave some FB.

This is ridiculous at this point why is it that this is the only site I have problems with virus??? In as long as I have had a computer which is a longggggg I have never worried about it till all of this stuff here on DS.

I have Firefox too. Really dont you have someone to fix this? I hate to say it but I might have to leave DS forever and a bunch of other Mama's will be forced to also its not worth losing a computer

Last time it happened here, Macs were effected too

I got hit 3-4 times last year and spent big money to get things cleaned up.

Re: Virus attack AGAIN - 5th time!!!

I've had it pop up three times in the last three days, all three times I was on DS. I closed it using task manager, and ran a virus scan, so nothing downloaded on my computer, but would really like it if it didn't keep popping up. Looks like there are fixes if it's actually downloaded something on your computer, but is there any fix to keep it from popping up? Or is this something the admins are working on?

Twice today and yesterday here too. I have the (I think) 64 bit Vista which is supposed to be great against this stuff.

If it messes up my husband's computer, he is going to be so mad at me. Why isn't this being taken care of??

I had the same thing PLUS then Windows Police Pro kept popping up and acting like a virus scan. I've downloaded Stopzilla and am running a scan now. Windows Police Pro is in the list...it's only 25% done, so hoping it will fix it. I've spent several hours trying to resolve. Ugh!

Re: Virus attack AGAIN - 5th time!!!

(Running Windows XP)
Oh, to get Windows Police Pro to stop popping up, First I had to right click on my task bar at the bottom of screen, and select Task Manager. Then select the "processes" tab. sort the list by "Image Name" (double click to get it descending so the "W"s are near the top). Then right click on "Windows Police Pro" and choose "End Process". Say OK to the popup asking if you are sure. Leave task manager up and watch for it to show up in the list again, because it kept showing up for me and I had to keep stopping ing (End Process). Then, I deleted the "Windows Police Pro.exe" under Program Files\Windows Police Pro. Once you do that you can close out Task manager, and then I was able to download stopzilla.

Ugh pain in the bum.
