Pumping while BF'ing

I have to start pumping so I can go to a continuing education seminar next Friday and Saturday. I have pumped 4 oz yesterday and the day before and 2 oz so far this morning. How do I manage to pump enough and not have a screaming baby? I am pumping when I first wake up when my breasts are very full, and again when he takes his longest nap and only on one side. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

oooooooooooh my gosh i've been there!! it's frustrating and tough, but you can totally do it. a couple women advised me to pump on one side while baby eats from the other. i never tried this myself, but it would totally work. i also got up at LEAST once a night to pump. it sucks, waking up at 3am and trying to stay awake, but it gave me lots of milk for DD, so in the end i was happy to do it. and keep doing what you're doing- pump while the LO is napping!

Thanks for the encouragement. I've been pumping every time he eats today, but he is acting like he is still hungry. I feel like there isn't enough milk to do this.
