Just want to share my joy!

Sunday will be 13 mos breastfeeding my DS. I'm very happy. My DD weaned herself around 13-14 mos. I became preg w/DS when she was 10 mos old and my milk supply dropped. I was very sad b/c I hoped so much to nurse her longer. After DS came, she never would try to nurse, even when I offered. She would say, "Mommy milk is for babies, silly mommy!"

So, I am happy to have nursed DS this long, and I hope and pray that he will continue to nurse for much longer. My goal is 18 mos, but that is a short term goal, as I would like to nurse until 2 yrs or longer!

To everyone who is trying and struggling, I say KEEP GOING! KEEP TRYING! DON'T GIVE UP! There is nothing better than holding my little boy who runs everywhere squealing while he sits quietly and nurses contentedly. I am so thankful I have been able to nurse my children. I hope everyone who wants to will be able to do the same!
