more leg drama *UPDATE first post*
some of you may have seen my post about my baby breaking his leg. well, last night as i was getting him ready for bed i thought i saw him flex his foot--the one that is casted. i thought for sure my exhausted brain was playing tricks on me, but i investigated. yea, his cast was defective, he could totally move his foot. there was a crack in the plaster, right about where the bone is broken.
so i spent today (my freaking birthday) at the hospital torturing my baby. it was completely awful. they had to cut the old broken cast off with a very loud saw, and of course micah was freaking out, screaming and writhing about. then the process of putting the new one on-more screaming and writhing. lots more. sigh. he was so scared, and i couldn't get him to calm down, and the guy doing the cast was not the friendliest fellow around, he seemed irritated about something, maybe becasue my baby wasn't jsut sitting still while he did his work. and get this~~ they didn't re-x-ray it! i swear if something is wrong, if it heals wrong or god forbid it has to be rebroken......... thanks for letting me vent. we just got back from the dr, the leg is healing fine, and though he said it isn't perfect, they can accept some degree of that since he is so young and will straighten out as he grows. or something like that! he's getting it off in 2 weeks, so that is good. and as a bonus, the dr was so totally HOT! like george clooney, only younger!

Re: more leg drama
Ugh, poor kiddo and mama! I felt bad enough when my son has had to go to the ER for little stuff (you know, taking too close a look at something that's smaller than his eye). I can't imagine having to have a leg re-casted!

Re: more leg drama
My Jackson spent his first 4 months getting re-casted once a week.
It was terrible. I know how you feel. I hope your LO's leg gets better asap.
