Great news from the doctor. Our lo weighs roughly 6 lb 15 ozs right now, slightly big but not worrisome considering I am high risk and have GD. He is active and there appears to be no complications with the GD. The doctor thinks that unless I go into labor she will not be inducing until 39 weeks if necessary. She advised that she will not let me go past my due date though. She is still all for us trying a natural birth. I'm hopeful that we won't even have to have an induction but am still trying to be realistic. The doctor is happy that I have only gained 11 lbs and am doing great on the GD diet. At least another 3 weeks of insulin and carb counting but with this news I think I can do it.
We weren't able to get great pictures with the ultrasound for two reasons... the baby has dropped most of the way and he had his foot in front of his face. Apparently he is camera shy. Otherwise he has lots of hair, long legs, and is pointed in the right directions. I'm just excited that he might be a normal weight.... I was fearing a 10 lb+ baby for my first birthing experience.

Good to hear! Hoping you go into labor before they want to induce, too! I'm hoping for the same since my Dr. doesn't want to go over 1.5 wks post dates.

That is great news and a perfect weight for your LO. I had GD and DD weighed 8.9 at 36w3d, so it seems like the diet worked great for you.
