This rubbed me the wrong way.

http://www.whiotv.com/health/21169804/detail.html

Basically, if you don't want to read it, it says that you should pump milk at night if you are going to feed at night, during the morning if you are going to feed in the morning, and not mix up the two.

I'm sorry... It takes me all day to pump the next work days worth. What I am supposed to do if I can't pump enough "noon milk"? Formula? Cow milk? Coke?! Bleh, thanks death-news for making me feel like my best isn't good enough as I suck my nipples off while he's in bed to try and get enough for him tomorrow. I bust my @$$ to keep this baby breastfed. You and your time sensitive milk can take a walk. /rant

wow....that's just....really kinda stupid.

i suppose if you have an abundance, then good for you. but i'm happy if people just breastfeed.....anytime of day milk works.

I didn't read it. But I am with you. I worked so hard to make sure he didn't get anything else once I got my supply back. I think that is just silly!

Re: This rubbed me the wrong way.

I can understand the science behind what they are saying... but seriously who is going to say I have to mark this one for morning feedings ... we just use what's oldest first not what time of day it was pumped, seriously I only put the date and the amount on the storage bags, not the time.

Re: This rubbed me the wrong way.

Breastmilk - period - is a million times better than anything else to give your baby.

The WHO lists the top 4 ways of getting milk for a baby as:

1) Mother's own milk, directly from the breast
2) Mother's expressed breast milk
3) Donated breast milk
4) Formula

I am fortunate enough to have the "issue" of oversupply/overactive letdown, so it really warms my heart when a woman who has the opposite or problem or other severe issues still keeps at it, because she knows it is in the best interest of her baby. Now to tell a mother who works her @$$ off to give her baby her own milk that she has one more petty thing to worry about is awful. She doesn't need another reason to get frustrated and possibly give up.
