Two in Cloth is Harder than I Thought!
This constant laundry and changing is keeping me soooo busy! I feel like I'm always washing diapers. I really wish my DD (19 mos) was potty trained, but I didn't want to do it with the new baby coming since everyone says that big life changes often cause backsliding.
To top it off, we're also having rash issues. My mom was here for 2 weeks (which was very helpful) but she kept leaving DD#1 in her dipes for waaaay too long and she got a really bad, open sore kind of rash. It's lingering despite putting Triple Paste on it. DD#2 has small open areas on her bum because she's such a heavy wetter. Sorry, just had to vent!

It is hard!! You can do it!! Somedays feel like all you do is change diapers and do laundry.. My advice? Keep baskets of diapers around the house instead of in one place. That helps when you have a newbie to change every hour.

Re: Two in Cloth is Harder than I Thought!
you can do it!! We have 2 in cloth too..it's' always laundry day around here! Soon they won't be going as much, this stage does pass pretty quick. Don't worry we will get into the grove soon enough.

Re: Two in Cloth is Harder than I Thought!
I second having the dipes in more than one place!! We have dipes for DS2 in the downstairs bathroom & upstairs in his room. And for DD in my room, her room & downstairs on the pack n play changer. It totally helps!!
DS2 is potty learning but I still feel like I'm constantly needing to do laundry too!! Thanks for admitting the struggle leroi de larue...now I don't feel as alone in my laundry duty! ![]() And hope the rash clears up quickly for your LO!

Re: Two in Cloth is Harder than I Thought!
Yep, I also have several stashes of diapers around the house and find myself taking from the dryer on occassion.
![]() I've only got one in dipes right now but with DS and elder DD I had two for a while. I had to just get into the rhythm of throwing a load of dipes in before I went to bed every other night. And I honestly let go of my OCD organizing tendencies and just threw them in a basket if I need to and grabbed from there. For the sores.. maybe use a stay dry liner if the wetness is a problem. Also aquaphor is great as a barrier.

Re: Two in Cloth is Harder than I Thought!
Thanks for all your support, mamas! I appreciate it. I do have lots of diaper stations-- one by the pack n' play downstairs, one upstairs in DD#1's room, and one in our bathroom for nighttime with DD#2. It does make everything easier. I think the rashes are stressing me out the most, making me wonder whether cloth is the best for them right now. Should I stick my DDs in sposies until the rash clears? I've been doing Aquaphor and Triple Paste on both DDs and haven't noticed much difference.

Re: Two in Cloth is Harder than I Thought!
I can't even imagine! I'm having trouble keeping up with the laundry and I only have one in cloth right now. Hang in there mama, hopefully it will get easier and those rashes will clear up soon!

Re: Two in Cloth is Harder than I Thought!
Do you think maybe it could be yeast? If you are washing diapers together or are breast feeding both babies, the yeast could linger from one to the other. Open sore type rashes remind me of a yeast rash.
I know what you mean about diapers. We are up to ears in dirty (and clean) diapers. If I am not throwing diapers in the machine, I am folding diapers!

Re: Two in Cloth is Harder than I Thought!
I understand, but you will get into a routine! I have had to go to washing everyday just to keep up and it can be such a chore. Thankfully dh has pitched in alot with diaper laundry. I hope it gets easier for you soon! Soon enough it won't be so bad when your not going through so many dipes with a newborn.
