supply is dropping and i have mixed feelings

i've had OS for a long time. i guess i should be happy that my supply is finally starting to come around to my LO's needs. on the other hand, it's kind of a bummer to be getting less output, and i'm a milkshare mama so i won't have much extra to share anymore. i'm torn between wanting to keep up my supply for my recipient LO, and being thankful that i don't have to pump every single day (even when i'm BFing all day) anymore. not really a question i guess, but i want to feel OK about this

As a milkshare donor mama myself, I personally think whatever you are doing to help out another mama and LO is great.

When we moved cross country, I had to stop donating to an awesome family because the shipping costs would have killed them and their money would have been better spent getting milk shipped from closer mamas. I gave them about a month's warning so they could find another mama. I think if you are doing what you can, and are able to let the other mama know as soon as you can that she's going to have to look for other sources, then I wouldn't feel too bad about it.

Although there are things you can do to increase your supply. I just posted some stuff in this thread and also this thread.

Being a milkshare mama is a wonderful thing - thanks for helping out other mamas!

You have to do what's right for you and your family. Know that you have done so much good already!!

thanks mamas i'm meeting up with my recipient mama today, so i think we'll talk about it. both our LOs are on solids now, so maybe they both need less milk. i know every little bit still counts, though!
