Should I be getting worried?
Hi mamma's,
My dd is 15 months on the 18th, she will pull herself up, cruise holding on for a few steps and walk holding my fingers. Otherwise she crawls... do you alkl think she will be walking soon? just a little worried...

Re: Should I be getting worried?
I wouldn't worry...I've know many kids not to walk until they are at least 15months

Re: Should I be getting worried?
I wouldnt worry yet if that is the only delay. You are still within the normal range and she is mobile. If she was late on reaching other milestones, it might be something to bring up with your ped. My son was has hypotonia or low tone, he for example didnt pull to stand or start crawling until almost 16 months and walked first at almost 19 months. These are close the the up to 18 month normal range for walking but the key was the no mobility until almost 16 months. If there is a problem you will see it in other areas too, like slouched (sp) sitting not a straight back, etc.
Feel free to pm with concerns, heidi

Re: Should I be getting worried?
Yes I would worry...but then again that is ME...My 2 oldest DD's have both walked by 10 months so if DD 3 does work by then I will probebly worry too...just motherly instinct...HOWEVER..a doctor probebly WOULD'NT worry at just 15 months..I mean thats really not that old. Give her a couple more months and then re evaluate

Re: Should I be getting worried?
Nope. I wouldn't worry. Sounds like she is working her way there.

Re: Should I be getting worried?
Since she's cruising, I wouldn't worry. As long as she's making progress, she should be fine.
Just think of it this way - she's not going to be a crawler forever. |

Re: Should I be getting worried?
i wouldnt worry at all, i thought ym son would never walk, he was cruising at 11 months in his crib and the couch but wouldnt "walk", when he turned 15 months he started walking, it was pretty cool, i thought it would never happen and it did, out of no where, goodluck and it is normal for alot fo kids, there are alot of late walkers

Re: Should I be getting worried?
Nope not to worry.
My DD was almost 16 mo when she started to walk, but she was a FAST crawler. My ped said she would not walk until she could be a good walker and move quilckly....and you know, my doc was right. DD waited to start walking until she could go across a whole room by herself. Plus we had a younger baby visiting that weekend and I think she was showing off.

Re: Should I be getting worried?
My doctor told me not to worry until the girls turn 2. They are 16 months (14 adjusted) and only Dylan is walking a little here and there. The other two are still cruising and crawling.
