Re: November KAL

I'm learning to knit this month. I started my first pair of longies last night and I'm done with the waistband, just started w/ the body. I'm not sure if they are going to fit dd, but if they won't, I'll give them to my sis for my new neice/nephew that is baking ATM. I'm so glad I chose a neutral Patons for my first pair. . .

Re: November KAL

I took a few days off of knitting (my hands were starting to act up), and started up some XL longies for DD in MM Nairne on Cestari- omg, SO PRETTY! Seriously, this is beautiful stuff. Is it me or does Nairne look exactly like Synchronocity without the pink?

Anyhoo - everyone's WIP look great!

Oh and Tina? (I think)I'm so happy you figured out the Ninja longies - I hate it when things get frustrating like that!

Cora - Was the second skein of TL the one I sent you? I'm really sorry about that! I was surprised at how kettledyed and not as vibrant the TL seemed irl, I'm glad to know it was just that skein but sorry to pass it on. I would try Morwenna and see what she has to say, she might be able to help you out?

All MM colorways look exactly like <insert colorway> just without the <insert color> Morwenna is the queen of subtle colorway changes.

Side note - did anyone noticed that A Twisted Stitch re-opened today? Kimi has some gorgeous stuff! I wish my husband didnt have such an aversion to purple or I would be all over that superwash DK " Shelby" for an RHS!!!
I thought the same thing LOL DUH!!!

They look great! Hey my door would look the same way if I let DD over there!

I know how you feel. Sometimes (when I first started knitting) my hands would hurt so bad I thought they were going to fall off and I was going to jab a hole in my index finger! I'm all good now...only sometimes do I end up with a hole in my index

My To Do list is a little shorter...
about 15% finished with the Runnin' Beanie and I'm not going to make my DH's neice a pair of longies afterall. I have boycotted his family.
Still need to start on:
-Turtle Scarf for my sister (just an improvised pattern with a dup st. turtle)
-Autumn Daze longies (even though Autumn is almost gone now!!)
-Christmas longies and hat for DD
-Socks before my DH goes on deployment in Jan.
-RHS for DD

Re: November KAL

I've got several things to work on this month, but I'm going to relieve a bit of the pressure by baking a lot of Christmas gifts and giving out prints of my artwork instead of trying to knit for EVERYONE.

1. Finish dd's fall kimono sweater dress
2. Custom hat for my cousin
3. Birthday hat for DH
4. 5 or so "Mr. Bumble" bees
5. Possibly another sweater dress
6. Finish dd's doll (Christmas present)

Here's what I had done as of about 2pm today on dd's sweater dress

And here is my very own Mr. Bumble. I made one on a whim because I had both black and yellow yarn next to me, and he was a HUGE hit. I'm making several for Christmas presents this year. I may add google eyes and antennas with the next batch.

Omg, I just finished that dress for DD (sized up to a size 4 and used Fisherman's which ended up more like DK) and the skirt about killed me - I would strongly recommend going every 6-8 rows for the increases instead of the 5 she recommends unless you are doing a smaller dress. Also, I did 2 rows (well, like 4 rows, but 2 purl rows show) garter stitch for the edging of the skirt and it was not enough to keep it from curling - I need to block it, but 3 purl rows or 6 garter stitch would probably be enough.

Good luck, I love those colors!
