Re: November CAL

My boys still need at least a couple of pairs of longies each. I have 6 colorways on the way and a couple still sitting here. I also need to finish 4 knitted drop stitch scarves, Christmas gifts for my girls, and a hat to go with a pair of crochet longies that |I made last week. If I get all of that done this month, I'll be amazed.

Re: November CAL

i HATE crocheting with black yarn. i keep dropping stitches and omg this blanket is turning out bigger than it appeared in my head. i measured one of my lap blankets and was aiming for that size did the math figured out big each square should be. 6.5 in by 6.5 in well my first guess at a stitch counted ended up at 7x7 so i just left it figured it wouldnt' make that big of a difference, but omg it is. but thats ok the kids will love it. (btw i'm making a checker board blanket with pieces for daycare for christmas goal was 52"x52" but its ending up bigger)

oh and my goal for the week is to finishes 10 squares for the checker board and a snuggie for ds (smallest one figured it would be the easiest goal )

Re: November CAL

Ok, dumb question, but I don't do patterns I just figure it out on my own so I wouldn't know this from reading a pattern. In general, when you make blankets, what size hook do you use, and do you use one strand or two? I'm thinking about making some snuggies now, but I don't know what size hook to use or if I should double up. The sizing, what stitches, where the sleeves go, etc I can figure out on my own, but I need a place to start with the hook size and such.

Thanks! Of course I have every hook size UP to K, even the itty bitty ones, but no L. Guess I have to go shopping!
