Re: November CAL

I have at least 2 pairs of longies this month for friends (half done with the first pair) and I need to bang out granny squares for my mom's Christmas afghan.

Knit wise I have two hats for DD and one (possibly two) pairs of longies. Busy Month!

Hello, I am new to craft chat but not to crocheting, I am so happy I found this thread. I will just start off by saying what I have going on in November.

I have a diaper wrap and soaker to finish by Thursday for a trade I am doing.
Then it is Yule gifts that I have to make. A astronout set with 2 aliens 2 astronouts and a rocket (this should be very interesting.)

Ear warmer head band thing for my FIL and a neck warmer for my MIL.

Silly question here but what does CAL stand for?

Hi, Welcome! i'm pretty new here too. When I was first coming here I thought CAL meant Craft along and I thought it was pretty cool that so many mamas were crocheting I had a good laugh when I realized it was crochet along

Re: November CAL

So I lengthened some previous shorties into longies, and made a matching hat. It's my first skullcap type hat, I just finished it now so no pix until daylight is available. Debating a tassle at the top. Anyway, here's the now longies:

I have two more shorties to convert, but they were made early in my crochet learning cycle so they will probably have to be frogged a bit since I tended to "overlook and move on" when I made mistakes I couldn't figure out back then

Re: November CAL

I decided to frog the legs on the shorties I was converting- it was cRaZy pooling and I apparently used a smaller needle for the shorties than I did the leg because it was turning into parachute pants I took pics of the pooling- have you guys had pooling like this before with Red Heart?

Back

But the front looked nice

And then quick matching question for you gals- do you think this is a good match, or should I try to find a better matching trim? I'm planning my next project for after I finish up some overdue sewing I had this solid in my stash, but I'm not sure if I should try to find something that is better match. Wacha think?

I think after I use up the yarn I have and the coop yarn coming in, I'm not going to use wool anymore. DD just isn't wearing her wool that much now that she is PLing. She goes diaperless at home and has been wearing fleece PJ bottoms over her wool wraps at night. I haven't been putting her in wool that often going out because it clashes with her jacket (which is knitted (commercial)) And I've still got wool sitting in water in the sink from the Sunday before last when she had sickies all over them. Anyone know how to get vomit out of wool when it is squished in between the stitches.... ?!?!?

Re: November CAL

I got my wool all dyed up and wound into balls. It wasn't the most pleasant experience, as I overdid it with the pink wilton's and got some yarn MUCH brighter than I had imagined. It turned out ok after a soak in a strong tea brew. Got started on the first leg of some Tunisian longies using the family pendragon pattern. The yarn looks much better crocheted up. Here's a pic of the hanks before I got started crocheting.
