Getting my co-sleeper to sleep through the night.
Okay. So I think my almost-eight-month-old should be able to sleep through the night. But she NEVER has. I don't mind cosleeping, especially because she screams bloody murder if you put her in her crib while she's trying to sleep(either if she's asleep [completely limp-limbed] or sleepy but awake). I don't mind her co-sleeping. Once she's asleep she's not wild and all over the bed. She loves to snuggle and I'm okay with that. HOWEVER...she still wakes up to nurse at 3 and 5 and sometime around 7ish. I don't think she really needs to because she is not totally asleep, yet not totally awake. She doesn't nurse a bunch either. Mostly just suckling and goes back to sleep. We have a bedtime routine (diaper change, lotion, story, song, prayers, etc.) and have since the beginning.
Realistically, how do I get her to sleep through the night? Once we get there, then I'll see about putting her in her crib. Right now I just want her to sleep through the night. I've read Dr. Sears and his "parenting to sleep" ideas, but what have YOU done that works?

Re: Getting my co-sleeper to sleep through the night.
I'd like to know too! My almost 11 mo old is still nursing overnight, sometimes very often
He's cutting more teeth so that could be a reason. Sometimes he really eats, but other times I think I'm just a booby pacifier

Re: Getting my co-sleeper to sleep through the night.
Both my girls were 18mths before they slept 7/8 hours at night. My youngest - 2 on Saturday - starts out the night in her own bed now, and when she wakes up comes over and climbs in with us. About 2 nights out of 7 that's at 5AM, the rest of the time it's more like 3AM! I know it can be frustrating, but sometimes it just helps to know that there are lots of other moms in the same boat! Good luck though!
