Try a 21mm shield. My nips looked the same way with a 24mm. In the brochure it shows a picture of what the nip is supposed to look like in the shield, and the 21 is even still a little big on me, but as close as I'm going to get. It shouldn't be pulling more than the base of the nipple in when it sucks it in, and it looks like yours is going in a LOT further than it is supposed to (hence the pain).

Thank you!! i kept questioning it but i didnt have an electric pump w my first baby...all this pumping is new to me. i wish we had a supply store open on sunday i'd be all in there to get one to try. i'll call the medical supply store tomorrow and see if they hav one in stock. w/ having to pump so much i definitely cant keep at it like this!
