Stuffed Grape Leaves, YUM!
I made some stuffed grape leaves tonight and boy were they good! I shouldn't have cooked the rice before I put them in the meat and rolled them in the leaves (made it a bit soggy), but they were good nonetheless! I want to try to make vegetarian next time, anyone have a good veggie grape leaves recipe?

Re: Stuffed Grape Leaves, YUM!
I made those in high school for a history project. They are so yummy! No Greek restaurants where I live right now, but I use to live in San Diego and they had a Greek restaurant there that served awesome stuffed grape leaves and hummus, you can't beat good hummus. My mouths getting wet just thinking about it!

Re: Stuffed Grape Leaves, YUM!
OMGosh I have been eating baba ghanouj and hommous like mad lately. I finally found a brand in the store that is pretty close to the real deal that you'd find in a typical middle eastern home. I am actually thinking of making my own baba ghanouj as I found a recipe online and it looks super easy. I used to work in Middle Eastern restaurants and had numerous Lebanese friends when I lived in Dearborn, MI (one of the larger populations of Arabs) and I miss the food. Grape leaves with meat is easy, but I strayed from the middle eastern a bit by mixing pork and beef whereas the true ME would only use lamb or beef. You just mix it up with your spices (garlic, salt, cinnamon, onion), rice and some sauteed onions and roll away! Boy those things clean you out too, it's funny! Something to be said about eating a lot of roughage, lol
