Will you Brine your Turkey for Thanksgiving?

We are this will by my first time ever. I am using a recipe I get from Cooking Tf menu mailer.

What recipe are you using? Do you add anything special?

Re: Will you Brine your Turkey for Thanksgiving?

I'm going to dry brine this year. I've wet brined the last couple of years and gotten good results but dry is supposed to be even better, so I'm giving it a whirl this year.

I'm trying it for the first time this year - using half water, half applejuice, brown sugar and whole cloves - hopefully its yummy (but DH is gone so I won't have to listen to him complain if its not! LOL)

I should add my recipe:

water
apple juice
kosher salt
4 bay leaves
4-5 black peppercorn
4-5 whole cloves
2 oranges cut and squeezed
rosemary,sage,and thyme
lemon

Heat till boiling then cool completely soak your bird for 12-24 hours making sure to turn over once.

We love the turkey brine from Williams-Sonoma. It really makes the yummiest turkey!

Yup!

We use Alton Brown's recipe with Aromatics in the bird while cooking!
